A fundraiser for Greg Andrews - Rochester BeaconRochester Beacon - Rochester Beacon

Be careful when shaking your fist at the sky when referencing and bemoaning COVID.

There are more insipid threats lurking out there … like cancer. Just ask drummer Greg Andrews, who is waging a furious pitch battle with tonsil cancer.

Andrews is a mucho popular dude around and about town, and his fans and colleagues have teamed up to raise money to aid in the fight.

You know Andrews from his stellar drum work in bands like Anonymous Willpower, the Brian Lindsay Band, and Busted Valentines. They’re all getting together, along with Jerry Falzone & Liar’s Moon, the Cool Club and the Lipker Sisters, and Hanna PK with Brian Williams, to help their friend out with a lot of love and a lot of music.

You can help the cause for Greg Andrews including live music and a bunch of way-cool raffle items from local music stores, clubs, artists and more at Photo City Music Hall, 543 Atlantic Avenue, April 10, 2-6 p.m. $20 suggested donation.

Frank De Blase is Rochester Beacon music writer. The Beacon welcomes comments from readers who adhere to our comment policy including use of their full, real name.
